Nashville Top-10 Highlights Three-Race Stretch for Ian Madsen and KCP Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA- A busy weekend of racing and hospitality in Nashville, TN blended into a Tuesday night tilt in Fairbury, IL, and when it was all said and done a Top-10 on Friday night highlighted the three-race stretch for Ian Madsen and KCP Racing.

“Nashville was definitely experience,” Ian Madsen said. “It was a new track in front of a new market and the people came out in bunches. We were fortunate to have Care Supply Co. on board with us, and had a lot of fun hosting them, and have a couple of really cool events over the course of the weekend.”

On a track that took some getting used to, Madsen would be a trend setter in time trials, as he was one of the first to use the turn four wall to his advantage as he used it to time in seventh fastest in his flight.

Going from fourth to third in his heat race, Madsen would put the Care Supply Co./Aspen Aire/Logan Contractors Supply directly into the 30-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the ninth starting position.

The tight confines of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville mixed with a slick surface that would soon take rubber really made for minimal passing. Putting himself in a Top-10 starting position, Madsen would maintain as he picked up a ninth place finish.

Back at the Music City Outlaw Nationals on Saturday night, Madsen would get off to a tough start as he ended up 24th quickest in time trials. Digging out of a hole in his heat, Madsen would pick up a fourth place finish and punched his ticket directly into the 30-lap finale.

Mired in traffic much of the night as he took the green flag from the 16th starting position, Madsen would keep his nose clean as he capped the weekend off with a 15th place result.

Traveling to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL for a Tuesday night showdown, a hooked up and heavy surface would see Madsen get off to bit of a slow start as he timed in 22nd fastest.

Finishing seventh in his heat, Madsen would seemingly come to life in the semi, as he worked his way forward and up into the third spot. With a torrid battle for the final transfer position taking place, Madsen would come out with a third place finish which safely transferred him into the feature.

Taking the green flag from the 23rd starting position, Madsen would have his hands full from deep in the field and on a track that was still pretty fast and hooked up. Slowly working his way forward, the St. Marys, NSW driver would take the checkered flag with a 15th place finish when the 40-lapper drew to a close.

“To race in a new market was great, and to get back to FALS for a second year is also a good thing,” Madsen said. “We would have loved to have been a little better, but all we can do now is look forward to this weekend’s event.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
